Paramedical procedures include Areola Restoration or Nipple Tattooing, Scar camouflage or Scar Correction,
Vitiligo (a condition lacking pigment in the skin), Cleft-lip or Hare-lip, Alopecia (a condition which causes
complete or partial hair loss which can be temporary or permanent). The list is endless and these are just
a few conditions where Paramedical procedures can be of great benefit.
Paramedical procedures have been developed to help those who have been disfigured through accident, trauma,
illness, or conditions which originated at birth - such as Cleft-lip otherwise know as Hare-lip.
Many women who have endured the terrible ordeal of suffering with breast cancer leading to mastectomy can
have the finishing touches completed with Areola Restoration otherwise know as Nipple Tattooing. This treatment
will help these patients boost their confidence and once again re-gain their self esteem and dignity. Scar
camouflage procedures can add the variance of skin-tones to damaged tissue and Cleft-lip or Hare-lip patients
can have confidence instilled with an illusionary procedure to create symmetry and balance. These are just a
few areas where Paramedical procedures in Micropigmentation have found a very important place in helping these
sufferers to gain a sense of normality.
Andrew Stassi has developed his own techniques for Areola Restoration resulting in a very lifelike appearance.
His work has been praised by many in the industry internationally and his work is often used in publications
to create awareness. The convincing ‘3D look' is created with the use of several pigment tones and shading
techniques. This is more of an artistic skill and our Paramedical classes will teach you how to get the basic
foundation to create such outstanding results.
The images to the left show an Areola Restoration procedure from start to finish. First we test the area to establish
the best colour match. We use several tones to match existing skin colours. Once correctly identified the treatment begins
using at least two different tones. The treatment usually takes two to three sessions in order to create the correct
shading and toning effects. The illusion of a protruding nipple is done by using dark and light shading as if drawing
on the skin only we pigment 'in' the skin. The utmost skill and artistic vision is required in order to create such a
realistic illusion.
